چکیده

Pet bird rearing has become increasingly popular recently, and owners often raise them near to their homes. However, zoonotic infections can spread from pet birds. Thus, this cross-sectional study explored the prevalence of potentially bacterial pathogens in household birds, risk factors for transmission, antibiotic susceptibility isolated bacteria. A total 240 samples were analyzed, including cloacal swabs (n=80), oral feces (n=80) pigeons, parrots, budgerigars, quails. Using cultural biochemical assays five species potential bacteria namely E. coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella Klebsiella spp. Staphylococcus detected. The was not statistically significant (P>0.05) across age, sex, breed, body weight diet, while significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01) correlated with hygienic condition vaccination. overall isolates birds coli (19.6%) (13.3%), (14.6%), (15.4%) (15%). Quail had highest 33.3%, 25%, 29.1%, respectively. Sample-wise highly (P<0.01) pigeon, (P<0.05) budgerigar, parrot, quail. sensitivity test 18 antibiotics demonstrated that most sensitive GEN (83.1%), followed by LEV (81.5%), CIP (80.4%), KAN (77.8%), CFM (59.3%). Likewise, there 100% resistance PG, AMX, BAC CH (98.4%), COX (95.2%), CN (90.5%), TET (77.2%) VAN (75.7%). findings suggest emergence multidrug-resistant into Dinajpur, Bangladesh, poses a wellbeing both general populace.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profile of Enterococcus Species Isolated from Companion Birds and Poultry in the Northeast of Iran

Enterococci are Gram-positive facultative anaerobic bacteria commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract of the mammals and birds. These cocci are isolated from urinary tract infections, bacteremia, endocarditis, and burn wounds in humans. The evolution of antibiotic-resistant enterococci raised a problem due to the possibility of the transmission of these organisms between poultry and human. ...

Potential enterotoxicity and antimicrobial resistance pattern of Aeromonas species isolated from pet turtles and their environment

To investigate the potential enterotoxicity and antimicrobial resistance of aeromonads from pet turtles as a risk for human infection, one hundred and two Aeromonas spp. were isolated from the feces, skin and rearing environments of pet turtles and identified by biochemical and gyrB sequence analyses. Aeromonas enteropelogenes was the predominant species among the isolates (52.9%) followed by A...
